Organization Structure
EITRI was founded and initially funded by the lifetime memberships of Darwin Nelson, Gary Low, Margo Murray, Rick Hammett, and Ross Ellis. They currently serve as the officers of the organization and members of the editorial review board for the International Journal of Emotional Intelligence Research (IJEIR). The publication and dissemination of quality research and exemplary EI-centric program models are priority goals of EITRI.
The theory, assessments, and emotional learning models that form the educational and training interventions of EITRI are research-derived and have been successfully applied in many settings worldwide. The Emotional Skills Assessment Process (ESAP)© instruments and the Emotional Learning System© are exclusively licensed to EI Learning Systems, Inc. and copyrights and trademarks are owned by Darwin Nelson and Gary Low. EITRI is the international training and research extension of EI Learning Systems, Inc. The goals of the organization are to expand and improve the initial research completed by the authors and to provide training for individuals and organizations committed to building healthy people, schools, and communities.
Our major purpose is to build an international network of researchers, educators, consultants, and scholars who share the common interest of establishing meaningful and productive relationships in the global community and working collaboratively to improve the quality of life and work of the world’s people.
